Weight and dimension control
Kazakhstan operates 77 automatic measuring stations (ASI): 44 on republican and 33 on local roads. The republican network is operated by JSC NC KazAvtoZhol, the local network by akimats. ASI stations are used on toll and non-toll sections and automatically record mass, dimensions, axle loads, license plates, speed, photos and video. Data is transmitted to state information systems for transport control and automatic processing of violations.

In Kazakhstan, average-speed enforcement covers 13 sections of republican highways: 8 toll sections totalling about 2,000 km have been in operation since March 2025, and 5 further sections totalling 525 km have been connected since July 2026. System users are the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Administrative Police Committee and regional police departments; the infrastructure operator of republican roads is ҚазАвтоЖол. The systems provide instantaneous and average speed control, license plate recognition and photo recording.

In Kazakhstan, modernization covers 9 road checkpoints on the external EAEU border: 4 with China, 4 with Uzbekistan and 1 with Turkmenistan. The main operator is the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Checkpoints use automatic vehicle registration, license plate recognition, weight and dimension, X-ray and radiation control, and the CarGoRuqsat electronic queue. Throughput at individual sites reaches 1,000 vehicles per day, with an average crossing time of about 30 minutes.
